This beautiful, rich brown coloured bird is a fabulous addition to your farm yard for both meat and eggs. The Rhode Island Red is extremely docile and a good dual purpose breed. The hens are hardy, and will lay a good number of dark brown eggs throughout the winter. The roosters make for excellent eating; offering a well flavored nonfatty meat!
