Pack rats move into sheds, barns, cabins and parked vehicles, hauling in nesting material and chewing whatever they find. This locally made live trap catches them with no poison or snap bars.

The design is simple and sturdy. Once a rat moves far enough inside, its weight shifts the plank within and a pin on the underside wedges in place, so it can't back out. A wire mesh window on the tall end shows you've made a catch without opening the trap, and the wood and sheet-metal body is built for repeated use.
