Agri-Blok™ 20% Range Sheep Protein Block — 25kg

When drought hits and your pasture can no longer carry your flock, Agri-Blok steps in. This Canadian-made, molasses-based protein block is formulated specifically for sheep on pasture or range — delivering the concentrated nutrition ewes, lambs, and growing stock need to stay healthy, productive, and in peak condition, no matter what the season throws at them.

Why Agri-Blok?

  • 20% protein formula — targeted, concentrated nutrition to support muscle development, milk production, wool growth, and reproductive performance when forage alone falls short
  • Molasses base — irresistibly palatable; sheep take to it immediately without training, mixing, or coaxing
  • Free-choice, self-fed block — place it in the paddock and walk away; sheep consume what they need, when they need it, reducing daily labour and eliminating waste
  • Weather-resistant block — built tough for Canadian range and pasture conditions, suitable for year-round outdoor use in all weather
  • All-natural ingredients — no synthetic additives, just clean, effective nutrition your flock can thrive on
  • Alberta-made quality — formulated by Canadian Agri-Blend with ingredients selected for real farm performance and palatability

Ideal For

  • Drought conditions — when dry, dormant grass drops to 4–6% crude protein, Agri-Blok's 20% formula bridges the deficit, helping sheep extract more nutrition from poor-quality forage and extending your grazing days significantly
  • Ewes during pregnancy and lactation — supports the elevated protein demands of gestation and peak milk production when nutritional needs are highest
  • Growing lambs — delivers the protein and minerals needed for healthy weight gain, bone development, and early fleece growth
  • Flocks on low-quality or dormant pasture — fills critical nutritional gaps when forage quality declines seasonally or due to overgrazing
  • Winter and late fall feeding programs — maintains body condition through cold months when energy demands spike and pasture is unavailable
  • High-stress periods — weaning, transport, yarding, or extreme weather events when sheep need extra nutritional support to stay resilient
  • Wool production cycles — consistent protein intake supports fibre diameter, fleece weight, and overall wool quality
  • Mixed sheep and goat operations — suitable for goats as well, making it a versatile choice for multi-species small ruminant farms

Why Use It

  • Extends grazing days during drought — a protein-supplemented sheep digests 10–15% more dry matter from the same poor-quality pasture, stretching your available feed further
  • Protects body condition — animals that hold condition through drought recover faster and cost less to rebuild when rain returns
  • Supports reproduction — thin ewes are less likely to cycle, conceive, or carry to term; consistent protein keeps reproductive performance on track
  • Reduces health risk — nutritionally stressed sheep are more susceptible to disease; Agri-Blok acts as a buffer against stress-related illness
  • Saves labour — set-and-forget system eliminates daily feeding routines during your busiest seasons
  • Cost-effective at scale — 25kg block provides weeks of supplementation for a small to mid-sized flock
  • Trusted by Canadian producers — proven in all climates and production systems across Western Canada

Care information

Feeding Guidelines

Agri-Blok is a free-choice, self-fed supplement. Place the block in a location accessible to all animals in the flock. Sheep will self-regulate their intake based on nutritional need — intake will naturally increase during drought or periods of low forage quality.

  • Sheep & Goats: Approximately 30–60g per head per day under normal conditions
  • Ewes in late pregnancy or lactation may consume more — this is expected and normal
  • During drought, intake may increase significantly as forage quality drops — monitor and adjust number of blocks accordingly
  • Place blocks near water sources and shade to encourage use by all animals in the flock

Storage

Blocks are weather-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. Storing under shelter will extend product life and reduce waste from rain softening. Keep away from direct prolonged moisture where possible.

Important Notes

  • Always ensure fresh, clean water is available — protein supplementation increases water intake.
  • Not a complete feed — use alongside forage, hay, or pasture.
  • Consult your veterinarian or livestock nutritionist for specific flock requirements.
