Fresh Coop Dust Bath

Fresh Coop Diatomaceous Earth is manufactured from naturally occurring mineral deposits in Southern British Columbia.

• Diatomaceous Earth, which is derived from amorphous silica plus
• Calcium Montmorillonite (Calcium Bentonite) which is derived from pre-historic weathered volcanic ash

Keep feathers in Tip-Top Shape

Dust bathing is the most natural way for chickens to reduce oils and parasites as well as keep their feathers clean. Providing a proper dust bathing area that incorporates Fresh Coop Dust Bath (100% Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth) will help keep feathers in excellent condition.

If a dust bath area has not been provided, your chickens may search out a suitable area for themselves.  Keep dust bath areas under cover, away from rain and snow.  Chickens will naturally scratch out a depression in dirt/soil to create a natural dust bath.  Fill depressions 3-4" deep with a mixture of any of the following:

• loamy dirt or sand & Fresh Coop Dust Bath (50/50)
• peat moss & Fresh Coop Dust Bath (50/50)
• Fresh Coop Dust Bath (100)

If a natural depression is not made by chickens' buckets, old tires or large containers can be used as dust baths.
